The thing about that bloggers post that caught Mitch’s attention was when the blogger mentioned that smaller tags and tag clouds were beneficial because it allowed the reader to focus on what the blog is really about. I’m assuming that having a huge amount of tags would confuse the reader causing him to leave without searching any further.

Google Is Committed To Make The Web Faster

Officially released today is Google’s new online page speed performance, a webmasters tool that allows users to verify the performance of any website at any time. We have all seen before that Google has been constantly “pushing” hard over the performance of the web and as you all now, page speed is now an important ranking factor. Google believes that a faster web is a better web and the “Page Speed Tool ” which was before available only as an addon, now runs as a web-based application.

Here’s an excerpt of the official announcement on Google’s Webmaster Central:

At Google, we’re striving to make the whole web fast. As part of that effort, we’re launching a new web-based tool in Google Labs, Page Speed Online, which analyzes the performance of web pages and gives specific suggestions for making them faster. Page Speed Online is available from any browser, at any time. This allows website owners to get immediate access to Page Speed performance suggestions so they can make their pages faster.

While many SEO techniques and factors have not changed that much, there are “new” ones that we should be keeping pace at, even if it is just to place it safe. What Changed In Bing’s SEO Tool?

Recently Microsoft has updated the SEO Toolkit and aside for some changes, the most significant is it’s new one click installation. Many have complained before because of the complications it required to install the product and as an answer to those complaints, the SEO Toolkit can now be installed by a simple click. How cool is that? Unfortunately, you will not be able to use this tool if you are using XP, Server 2003 or any other OS, because it requires IIS 7 to run. Either than that, it will run on any other Windows version.
