WordPress SEO Plugins For 2012

If you read my previous post about the best SEO practices, I mentioned that one of the most important elements to search engine optimization is on-page (or on-site) optimization or, for the purpose of this post, the part of WordPress that deals with the “code”. WordPress is a great platform and takes care of about 80% of the mechanics of SEO according to Matt Cutts (Google Spam Chief). While this is true, it does not mean that you can’t improve it further and this is where the SEO plugins come into play. They help your site go that extra mile for added “technical optimizations”.

Note that there are many SEO plugins available out there, and you should always do some research for more information. The ones that I will be recommending here are all from credible sources (developers and on the WP repository), 100% free and tested. I use them either here or my other websites.

How To Really Improve Your Bounce Rates

First off I want to give credit where credit is due and in this case it goes to a post my mate Mitch wrote called Too Many Tags And Categories? That particular post, one that I recommend you read, refers to a blog Mitch had read where the blogger claims to have reduced his bounce rate to 2%.

The thing about that bloggers post that caught Mitch’s attention was when the blogger mentioned that smaller tags and tag clouds were beneficial because it allowed the reader to focus on what the blog is really about. I’m assuming that having a huge amount of tags would confuse the reader causing him to leave without searching any further.

Let’s say for example that I wanted to promote ProBlogger’s newly updated book, one that I haven’t bought and am not likely to ever buy it. Not having a copy I couldn’t just write a post telling people how great it is because that would be dishonest. What Is Content Curation (definition)?

Good question and my quest to find an easy to understand definition of content curation yielded very little results. I did however come across GetCurata.com which defines a content curator like this:

A Content Curator is someone who continually finds, groups, organizes and shares the best and most relevant content on a specific issue online.

I guess the above definition should shed a bit more of light about content curation, if you are quite new to the subject.
