You know (or should know) that it is the largest social network in the sphere (presently), and that with the proper knowledge, could help you catapult your online business to a different level. Marketing on FaceBook cab be easy for experienced users, but for thsoe who are just undergoing their first steps, it might be a bit complicated to understand how it works.

The first thing on FaceBook that is not recommended is to “use” your personal account business purposes. 3. How to encourage your Fans?
4. How to use your page Settings?
5. How to increase your business using your page?
6. How to use the Facebook advertising system?
7. What you should do next?

And a bit more… Trully a gem whose read is highly recommended. It is free education provided by one of the most experienced users I have stumbled upon. Plus, FansBridge does not stop there. You will also find many informative articles about social media marketing.

It’s nothing special. I happen to be one of those people who get things rolled out to their account early. Just like Google Wave, Google Buzz, I was able to join in on Google Plus early (and without any invitation, of course). My first reaction was, ‘this is it!’

Google+ is an amazing platform. Although there are things that can be argued about, overall Google+ is a hit from my end. It turned out to be more interesting to me when I figured out that I can actually use it for blogging purposes as well. Not only that, I thought for a few minutes and came up with a few reasons why blogging on Google+ may actually be better than blogging on an actual ‘blogging‘ platform.

Today, I’d like to share those reasons with you and know what your opinion is on them.

The Facebook Comments Plugin is a simple piece of code in either FBML (Facebook Markup Language similar to HTML or Hyper Text Markup Language) or an iframe to be embedded in the source code of the blog. This plugin can be used as the only option for comments or in conjunction with the default commenting system of the blog. While many other integrated commenting plugins like Disqus also use Facebook integration, the Facebook Comments Plugin is also popular as a standalone system.

Here we shall look at the various advantages and disadvantages of the Facebook Comments Plugin.

It’s pretty neat sometimes, and today it was on the topic of blogging communities, something I like to talk about often.

Days ago I asked people if they comment on blogs they share via Twitter. It’s gotten a lively discussion and has even sparked conversation on other blogs. Well, something else came up today that begs the question as to whether people should ever be retweeting content that goes on through a Twitter Chat.

Actually, this came from someone who wasn’t even part of the chat. As I’d mentioned in the original post on chats, some folks don’t really like it when a group of people take up an hour or two for these chat sessions. I debated with myself how I felt and decided that I wanted to participate and that pretty much is that.

Up till today, this feature remains unavailable on facebook. Apart from regular checking, page admin can only rely on third party applications to monitor upcoming posts and comments from fans.

I had previously introduced Page Notifier and Fan Page Notifier to monitor page activity (read this post to learn more about them). Page Notifier’s free version provides one-time-scan per 24 hours. As much I’m satisfied with its results, I longed for more scans in a day. As for Fan Page Notifier, the last time I got an email notification from it was end of December 2010. Not sure why it stopped. I went back in and updated my subscription recently, we’ll see how it performs few days later.

It’s absolutely fair to have limitations when using a free application, I understand that. In fact, I appreciate the app developers for trying to make our lives easier with these nifty facebook applications. Still, it never stops me to source for better alternatives, which is why I’m thrilled to introduce you these two new, free facebook applications that made my page monitoring a lot easier starting 2011…

The article talks about whether real time search is a fad or just isn’t leveraged properly in “search engine” style results pages which is probably more the case, real time searches to have relevant results can’t have a simple single column feed that updates so quickly you can’t really read the tweets as they pass as can happen when searching for something like “Justin Bieber” on Google.

It’s really encouraging to hear that some are trying out the methods, can’t wait to receive more feedbacks on that! In the mean time, I will be sharing few more practical ways to display testimonials (and portfolio) on your LinkedIn and Facebook Page!

Now there are definitely limitations comparing to working on a self-hosted blog because application is the main key. Not the best of plans but hopefully you can be inspired by this post and work out creative ways to promote your brand…
