This started as an attempt to revive “Wordy Wednesday,” but Wednesday turned into Thursday and it seemed silly to title the post “Wordy Wednesday” on a Thursday. As I was writing it, a plethora of independent clauses clambered around in my head and spilled out onto my keyboard, clamoring for attention, and this morphed into a discussion of run-on sentences, the evils of comma splices, the merits of the semicolon, and more. Cast aside visions of your Fifth Grade English teacher and her ruler; I hope you have fun with this and find it useful!
